IUS GBE Guest Lecture: Hormonal Regulation of Mammalian Metabolism
Within the scope of the Biochemistry 1 (NS202) course at the Genetics and Bioengineering (GBE) study program, students had the privilege of hosting MSc. Tea Bećirević from Atrijum Polyclinic as a guest lecturer. Ms. Bećirević delivered an engaging lecture on the "Hormonal Regulation of Mammalian Metabolism," using Type 2 Diabetes as a pertinent example.
The lecture captivated the students, providing valuable insights into the intricate mechanisms underlying metabolic processes and their hormonal regulation. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Altijana Hromić-Jahjefendić, the course holder, expressed her enriching learning experience that this lecture offered.
Following the presentation, students actively participated in a fruitful discussion about Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM), sharing thoughts and gaining a deeper understanding of this prevalent metabolic disorder. The event not only enhanced their knowledge but also fostered a collaborative and engaging learning environment.
The GBE study program extends gratitude to MSc Tea Bećirević for sharing her expertise, contributing to the academic growth of the students, and making the lecture a memorable experience for all involved.
