Unveiling the Genetics and Bioengineering Study Program at IUS: A Show and Tell Workshop for High-School Students

The International University of Sarajevo proudly hosted a special promotion event on Friday, January 12, 2024 for the Genetics and Bioengineering study program, exclusively designed for high school students. This marked the beginning of a series of events titled "Show and Tell Workshops" aimed at presenting the IUS study programs ion their best light to senior high school students.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Altijana Hromić-Jahjefendić, the GBE Program Coordinator, took the stage to introduce the program's professors, unveiling the curricula, and highlighting captivating projects and study plans that await prospective students.

The day unfolded with students exploring our vibrant campus, exploring the wealth of knowledge housed within our library, and engaging in hands-on experiments at our state-of-the-art Research and Development Center. Under the guidance of GBE Assistant Mr. Abas Sezer, students had the unique opportunity to undertake small experiments, fostering their passion for genetics and bioengineering.

In an enlightening session, prospective students met with the current GBE scholars who shared their personal experiences and insights about studying at IUS. This invaluable interaction took place amidst the warm ambiance of coffee and cakes, creating a relaxed environment for meaningful conversations.

The overall atmosphere was nothing short of positive, with high school students leaving the event enthusiastic and satisfied with the newfound knowledge about the Genetics and Bioengineering program at the International University of Sarajevo. We look forward to welcoming a new cohort of bright minds into our academic community!
